MURO LX_21 URBAN ART FESTIVAL: LISBON, PORTUGAL

The MURO LX Festival in Lisbon spotlights new, emerging artists as well as some of the most renowned modern street artists. It gives graffiti artists access to challenging new surfaces, including the pillars of the Vasco da Gama bridge, basketball courts, pedestrian crossings, train carriages, and gables, pushing the bounds of their creativity and encouraging them to interact with exciting new canvases and disused spaces. MURO LX_21 is the 4th festival of its kind and features new attractions, including workshops, concerts, and walking tours around the finished murals. The previous three festivals, in 2016, 2017, and 2019 allowed 157 artists

MEETING OF STYLES: COPENHAGEN, DENMARK

The eclectic mix of artwork that has become synonymous with Meeting of Styles returns in 2021 in various locations across the world, including Copenhagen in Denmark. Combining works from both relatively unknown, up-coming artists and big names in the street art world alike, Meeting of Styles is a fantastic way to get to know the vibrant street art scene of Denmark and Europe and spot some brand-new artists that are worth watching. The theme this year is 'Tales of Unity,' to reflect how important it is that we all come together to celebrate our uniqueness through art.

MONTREAL MURAL FESTIVAL: MONTREAL, QUEBEC

Montreal is a city rich in art and culture. Every year, for a week in August, the long Boulevard Saint-Laurent becomes an open-air gallery for local and international artists to showcase their skill and creativity, with the goal of democratising urban art and giving it a welcomed place within society. Alongside the many murals and live-painting sessions, there are workshops, films, and other shows on offer. The once cosmopolitan streets are turned into a hive of activity, culture, and discovery for locals and visiting tourists alike.

WATERFORD WALLS: WATERFORD, IRELAND

2021 marks the 7th year of Waterford Walls, Ireland's biggest street art festival. Artists from across the country arrive to paint the streets of Waterford, turning the town into an open-air gallery. The mission of the festival is to bring the community together, to connect residents and businesses, and to inspire creativity in everyone. For the organisers, street art is a life-enriching form of expression that can help to improve the lives of those living around it. This year, the theme addresses the gender imbalance within the world of street art, and features a range of mentoring and training programmes

“ANDY WARHOL: REVELATION” AT BROOKLYN MUSEUM: NEW YORK

Andy Warhol is one of the 20th century's most prolific artists, whose work shaped the Pop Art movement as we know it today. Warhol is known for his insightful, often witty, riffs on the nuances of modern society, consumerism, and celebrity, but it is rare for an exhibition to focus so keenly on Warhol's personal life and personal beliefs.
